7 Social media sites for every business

There are so many questions that run through your mind when it comes down to starting a business.  One of the most commonly asked questions are how to get noticed.  How do I get views and followers.  This is something that is really hard to understand when you get started and I still have a tough time with it within a few weeks of being serious with my side business.

There are many social media sites to utilize when beginning your business.  I have a list of each one of the sites I think are the sites to use for your business, but you have to use them right.  The people on each one of these platforms are looking for different things, so even though it is tempting to copy and paste from one platform to the rest, it is more than likely not the best avenue to take.

I will break down each platform and what your audience on each is looking for in content, I have included links of each one of my platforms as well for reference.

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/successfromsawdust

Facebook is a great platform for people to see short posts, live videos, and funny memes.  Facebook marketplace can also be a great place if you plan to sell handcrafted items or any other different products you can sell.

Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/successfromsawdust/

Instagram is growing, and growing fast.  This can be a great site to display stuff you have made or any other different pictures.  Instagram is a platform that uses the image as the content.  Instagram stories can also be utilized with this site!

Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/successfromsawdust

Pinterest is one of my favorite sites of all time!  There is so much content and creativity with Pinterest.  Pinterest is a site that will need to be used with an eye catching image that someone can click on, then something else is provided or offered once the person is led to the link.   Pinterest can be great for affiliate links on different posts like "how-to" posts.

Etsy:  https://www.etsy.com/shop/successfromsawdust

Etsy is used as a platform to sell your projects on and can be a tough site to work with.  There is a ton of competition on Etsy, so there are things that you will need to keep in mind.  The projects that you sell if hand crafted will have to be small enough that they will ship okay and not cost a fortune.  Also there will have to be something unique about your item to set you apart from competition, unless you undercut on the price.

Youtube:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3WIAv9ZfLA7JeTlcqEFupw?view_as=subscriber

Youtube is probably, in my opinion the best platform that you can use that can help your business grow.  Everything today has gone to video, and everyone would rather watch something than to read something.  Youtube is great for reviews, DIY, or just updates and information.  You can also leave affiliate links in the description.

Twitter will be the platform to use for updates, quick bits of info and links.  This is going to be a quick drop of info, nothing too long but something to catch people's attention.

There is going to be one more thing that will be super important with the content you decide to post in your sites, which is the use of hashtags.  Using a hashtag like this -  #Woodworking #Woodwork #Successfromsawdust allows you to target words that will show up when people search for content they are looking for.  This allows your post to be exposed in the search results with the hopes they will see your content.

That wraps up my list of social media sites eveyone should be using for their business'.  Please follow and/or subscribe to see my new content each week!
