Don't make this mistake when starting
Well... wish I could say that I have made some progress on making money with Success from Sawdust, but unfortunately I haven't. This is the second week of documenting my journey and my post from week 1 layed out the following goals that I wanted to achieve:
I am going to give myself 5 days to create the following projects, list them and document the process.
Dog bowl stand
Simple wall décor shelving
Candle holder
Buffalo wall décor sign
Rustic country vase
Once they are all complete I will list them and try to get them sold. I am shooting to make $200 total.
I did not even get to start on one of these projects!!! I am trying to finish a table that I started before this channel and has unfortunately taken a lot longer than expected. So I am trying to finish it up and have it delivered so I can move on to other projects. Since I am sort of stuck in a rut here trying to finish and unable to make money and dispite feeling like i'm turning into this guy.........
I wanted to use this as a chance to share some advice!
I originally took on a project to build a table and chairs in exchange to for someone to replace my water heater that went out in our house. Well, that was 2 months ago, and I anticipated I could have complete in less than 2 weeks. I overpromised and underdelivered big time! It has taken me around 8 weeks and finally almost finished.
When you take on more work or custom builds one thing to always remember is to try to not be realistic and maybe even exaggerate a little on the time you think it will take to complete a project. You don't want to make this same mistake and be self concious the entire time you work on it. This has also prevented me from growing my customer base and bank account, so don't make the same mistake I did!
